With the socialists sweeping the November 4th 2008 elections, over much of the U.S., including the presidency, the majority of Americans have sent the message loud and clear. They have accepted the promise of change from a greed motivated society to an envy motivated one.
Greed is not my description, but it is the description used by the left over and over, until we have become conditioned to accept it as the description of the once sought after "American Dream". We have been conditioned to perceive any kind of personal, or corporate success in this country, as the result of greed, instead of acknowledging it as the end most of us seek, or in my opinion should seek.
The left is telling us that we need not, nor should not, expect anything beyond mediocrity, and to expect more, and be all that we can be, in a free society, we must be driven by greed, and must be looked on with disdain. Instead, the left wants us to view anyone who is successful as someone to be punished, and have things taken away from them, by force. They are to be envied, and taken down to the lowest common denominator in the name of "fairness" and "equality". After all, anyone who is successful MUST have made their fortunes off the backs of someone else, and that just isn't "fair".
The left looks on people and businesses who want to be successful in a free market, as greedy and selfish. By their definition,, greed and selfishness are what has built this country. Jealousy, and envy never built anything. Do I consider wanting a better life for your family and children, and their children greedy and selfish? No, I call it ambition and following the American dream. The same dream people have risked their life to come here to share in. We all feed off of each other's success, and there is more than enough to go around for anyone who is willing to work hard and smart for it.
Someone else's success doesn't hold anyone down from creating their own. On the contrary. The more money and success someone has, the more opportunity they create for others to follow suit. "A high tide raises all boats" so to speak. I can't think of one case where a poor person created a job, except with the government.
The left's ideology dictates that the average American is some sort of victim, who cannot achieve anything on their own. They believe that only through government control can we even achieve government mandated degrees of success. They believe in the collective as a whole, instead of a whole population made up of free individuals in charge of the government. Too much freedom and individual thinking is more than we can handle. I think about it like they want to unionize citizenship, with the government being the union bosses. They will work out with business ( if they don't nationalize them all first ), what our jobs will be, and how much we are allowed to make, and the union dues ( taxes ), will be taken off the top, right after all the kick backs are paid. Yes, we can still vote for the union leadership, but no matter who is elected, the rules remain the same. The main difference here is that in THIS union,, the union collects dues from the companies too,, right off the top, and again after the kick backs. In other words, the union ( the government ) controls management AND labor, and how much they are allowed to make.
According to the poles,, just under half of Americans voted for this insanity, but we all have to live with the consequences, and that is the rub. I also believe that if most Americans bothered to find out the truth, this election would have turned out much differently. There is still time people. We have to fight this cancer that we ALL know will destroy our country with everything at our disposal. We have to become activists, starting with educating people. Start with your own family if that is where it starts in your situation. Get educated yourself and talk to people. Preach the truth until someone listens, and then preach some more. None of us can afford to stop until we can turn this around, and send these parasites back to the holes they crawled out of.
America is in deep trouble my friends, and only conservatism, and freedom loving people can save her. Do you think she is worth the trouble? Just sayin,,,, I know what I will be continuing to do as long as I have a life to do it with.. What say you my friends?

WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY?
I have been a libertarian/conservative all of my adult life, and I have observed the evolution of both the major parties, and the country for that matter, for many years. I have witnessed a shift to the left by both the Democrat and Republican parties that started in the 60's. Although the Republican party has resisted this shift much longer than the Democrat party, in the last decade or so, many Republican politicians have embraced ideas once only belonging to the left.
I believe this move to the left by the Republican party is a result of politicians ( wrongly I believe ), perception of the public at large desiring leftist policies from their government. It is my contention that the media is to blame for this misconception. News reporting on all levels has been slanted to the left for decades. A lie repeated long enough, and for enough times becomes fact, and even some other wise seemingly intelligent people accept it.
What everyone seems to be missing, including the Republican party, is that most Americans run their own lives in a conservative manner. Most are good moral, responsible people, and are among the most generous in the world when it comes to charity. The left, led by the media, have made many otherwise conservative people feel guilty for any conservative values that they may hold. Conservatives have been labeled mean, selfish, racists who want a theocracy instead of a democratic republic which was what America is supposed to be. Nothing could be farther from the truth, but truth isn't important to the left. Only if it serves their end.
As a result of the demonizing of conservatism, what is known as the "compassionate conservative" emerges on the scene. Conservatives who have bought into the lies of the left, have embraced liberal/leftist methods to conservative ends, hoping to garner favor from the leftist media, and acceptance from an American people they have thoroughly miss judged. They have left the public with the choice between a liberal, and a watered down version of the same thing, with predictable results. The left doesn't reach across the aisle. The left doesn't compromise. We should learn from the method of their success, but not emulate their ideology.
The Republican party has lost it's identity because it has allowed the left redefine it. Until the Republican party finds it's conservative roots, articulates the conservative message to the American people, and takes on the left issue by issue instead of compromising and "reaching across the aisle" in the name of being reasonable, it will continue to lose election after election. The Republican party need not be afraid to give the American people a true conservative choice on the ballot. Ronald Reagan was the last conservative Republican president we had and he was one of the most popular presidents in recent memory,, by people of both parties. With the right candidate, this can be achieved again.

My Blogspot Debut
I have been writing political blogs on myspace for almost a year now, and I think it is time I spread my wings a bit so to speak. My plans are to make weekly or bi weekly posts here, and try to build a readership, like I did on myspace, minus the drama that sometimes accompany blogs there.
I just want to spread the truth, and further the conservative cause to whomever will listen. America is experiencing dark days, and I look for them to get much darker as this new socialist administration begins to take power, and bring about the "changes" that was promised.
America was built on the pioneer spirit, rugged individualism, and FREEDOM like the world has never seen, and has been a shining example of what free men and women can create when unencumbered by a tyrannical government. America IS that "shining city on a hill" that is the envy of the world.
The socialists of this country promise to destroy all that has made this country great, and I for one plan to fight them with everything at my disposal. I will shout the truth from the mountain tops as long as I have breath to do so.
